Beate Florenz is a professor at the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst Basel FHNW’s Institute Arts and Design Education, where she researches and teaches and leads the Learning Lab Arts and Design Education. Her work focuses on the connections between art theory, art education, and artistic research, and on cooperative approaches to teaching.

Beate Florenz is President of the Schweizerische Fachgesellschaft für Kunstpädagogik | SFKP/SSPA, a board member of the lbg Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft, Solothurn, and an associate board member of the SGL Arbeitsgruppe Fachdidaktik Kunst und Bild work group.
