Didactic Pattern Analysis Starting From Art

What role is played by the artworks in the representation of gallery education? From the spatial composition and the reactions of persons to the art in the photographs used for this study, specific forms of learning and experiencing can already be deduced. The visual analysis of the material was connected to concepts of didactic and art theory, so that eight tendencies of gallery education can be formulated from eight observed roles played by the artworks. Subsequently, the open teaching forms largely represented here will be critically discussed and possibilities for acting in relation to representational as well as educational work will be indicated.
